Edusity Partners with Finance Consultant Col Shabbar Shahid to Assist in Building Financial Literacy

Edusity.com has partnered with financial consultant Colonel Shabbar Shahid to build financial literacy and its potential role in Covid-19 recovery.

Colonel Shahid and Edusity are providing 200 people with free access to the online course Fundamentals and Concepts of Finance, Investment and Business.

“In today’s environment, where people have suffered huge financial distress, there is a need to enhance our financial knowledge and rebuild our personal assets while helping the economy to recover. If taking my online course helps people get better control of this one aspect of life, then we know we are moving forward and recovering in small ways,” says Colonel Shahid. It is an opinion the Edusity team shares.

“We built Edusity to ensure everyone has access to the education they need when they need it,” said Edusity Co-founder Arvind Betala. “We are proud to use our platform to deliver Colonel Shahid’s course to those who need it right now.”

Colonel Shahid created the self-study course to address what he sees as an element of education that is often neglected.

“The first and the most important thing people should do to manage their money better is that they must become financially literate,” he says. “Financial literacy should commence at the high school level. That does not mean everyone becomes a financial expert, but that everyone acquires basic financial knowledge and understands the concepts behind how money works.”

Individuals interested in taking the course should email blast@edusity.com to request a free registration code.

Edusity is a global EdTech company headquartered in Mississauga, ON, Canada with offices in Vadodara, India. The company was founded by Arvind Betala, CA-CPA and Vishal Shah, B.Eng, both thought leaders in the sector. Most recently, Mr. Shah published an essay about the Canadian economy’s dependence on the Indian technology sector.

Colonel Shabbar Shahid is a principal partner in Prudence Engineering and Financial Accounting. He is an Indian Army Veteran and a mechanical engineer. He completed both his MBA and PhD while serving.
